Eco-conscious consumerism within the beauty industry
Eco-conscious consumerism is important within the beauty industry because it can help reduce the amount of waste that goes into landfills and oceans. One of the major issues with beauty products is that they are made from harmful ingredients such as sulphates, parabens and phthalates. These ingredients can have negative effects on your skin and your health.
Sustainability is an important core value here at Sabbia Co. Our mission from the start was to be an ethical brand with minimal impact on the environment. This is why we source natural ingredients, sustainable packaging, and sustainable and biodegradable tools that are also chemical-free.
Katie, Dave and the team at Sabbia Co ensure that they are doing their part not only in the beauty space but also in everyday life.
Building on one of our core values 'sustainability' we launched our refill program. A program to reduce packaging, our footprint as a company and minimise our customer's landfill.
In 2021 we introduced our refill program. This is where our customers send us their empty bottles & packaging materials in which we recycle them. The customer receives a 15% discount on their next order.
We are very cautious with our formulation process from our ingredients, labs and how much we batch. We formulate in-house and in an Australian-based lab that also shares the same values as us, this was really important. To minimise our footprint we only formulate small batches to minimise any wastage.

This has led more companies to start producing more environmentally friendly products for their consumers.
The beauty industry has always had a large impact on our planet and it is important that we keep this in mind when making our purchases. If we don't think about how much energy is used to make our cosmetics or how much waste they create then we might not notice until it's too late and there is nothing else left but dust! This is why we work so hard to create sustainable products that are amazing for you and the environment.
